Short and Sweet

So with my amazing day off I did a few things.

1. Went to Urban Eatery with Scott for lunch. Their pizza is AMAZING!
2. Got ice cream at COWS! Very good decision. Chocolate Monster on a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Delicious.
3. Lazed outside in the sun. Get this, I put sunscreen on my face so it wouldn't burn but didn't bother putting it anywhere else. End result = sunburn on my face and tan on the rest of me. Go figure.
4. Chilled at home with the fam.
5. Went to meet friends at Victoria Park. Due to the fact that Scott picked me up on his way home from Summerside we got there at like 11:15ish. There were 3 people left, everyone else went home. Since Scott and I didn't want to waste the night, we headed to Sobey's for a candy run. For some odd reason we both wanted M&Ms. So I picked up some of those, fuzzy peaches and Swedish berries! We demolished the fuzzy peaches and half the M&M's on the way to my house.

WEIRD! I would totally suggest trying this: Eating approximately 5-6 M&M's and 1 Fuzzy Peach at the same time. The combination of flavors it awesome!

Today I am Happy.

It is ever so interesting how if you begin your day with thoughtful prayer, and feasting on the words of Christ how your day is so much better. Though some rough things got in the way I still seem to be in a good mood.

There is a Facebook event for Monday titled "Sharing the Gospel Through Social Media." I thought it was an amazing idea. In the description they quote Pres. Uchtdorf when he said, "With so many social media resources and a multitude of more or less useful gadgets at our disposal, sharing the good news of the gospel is easier and the effects more far-reaching than ever before." So the challenge is as follows..

On June 27, 2011, in memory of the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, let us use our Facebook profile to share the gospel. Let us do so by posting gospel messages on our status. A few suggestions:
1. Share your favorite quote by Joseph Smith2. Share videos from Mormon Messages3. Share a link to mormon.org or lds.org4. Share a recent quote from general conference5. Share this event :)
So I definitely took the chance to post one of my favorite quotes from this past General Conference. It was from Elder Dallin H. Oaks',

"Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. The desires we act on determine our changing, our achieving, and our becoming."

Here's the link to the rest of the talk:
http://lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/desire?lang=eng

I find it interesting how some topics seem like the Lord is really making you look at. While I was reading my scriptures (on my break at work) I came across this scripture:

"And by their desires and their works you shall know them." (D&C 18:38).  So at one point I probably skimmed over that verse thinking nothing of it, but after rereading the talk, and picking out that quote, the scripture stood out even more. I love when everything comes together.

Well the first part of this blog post I wrote on Monday, but wasn't done so I just saved it, and finally got to finishing it today. Part of the reason I never got to finish the post was due to the fact I had an awesome time with the fam for FHE. Normally we have a semi boring lesson, people are fighting and there usually ends up being like 3 people left at the end. This week it was warm and sunny, so we all got changed, went out, and washed the cars. It was a lot of fun! Afterwards we all jumped in the clean cars and drove up the road and got ice cream. Definitely one of the best we've had for a while!

The weather today was again BEAUTIFUL! I was pumped that even though I didn't have the day off, I didn't work till 1 so I could still enjoy the sunshine! The kids were outside playing on their homemade water slide so I decided to join them outside. I just laid out there and soaked up the sun. I got a little sunburn on my nose and under my eyes but overall I LOVED IT!

Lastly, after so great consideration, I bought a pair of sweatpants today. At work they were $18! Insane right?! I just couldn't pass it up, so I broke down and bought a pair. Sadly the women's didn't have any that were tight at the bottom, and normally I wouldn't think I'd like them, but I just felt the need to get them. So, I got a pair of men's. Had to get a small, which are still extra baggy, and a little long, but who cares, they are sweatpants. LOVE THEM!

So as you can tell, I have been trying to pay attention to the little things in my life that make me happy, like sweatpants, days off, sunshine, and awesome General Conference talks. Oh, and also chattin' with friends from places far away. Ever so grateful for technology.

Half way through the week!!

I am Content.

I am absolutely thrilled looking at my work schedule this week. I didn't work today (obviously), I work tomorrow (9:30-6), Tuesday (1-9:30), Wednesday OFF, Thursday (1-9:30), Friday OFF (also Canada Day which is sweet!), Saturday (9:30-6). I am absolutely pumped that I have 3 days off this week! I definitely need it/ am going to use them 100%! According to the weather network (as long as it doesn't change) it is suppose to be semi nice on Wednesday!!

ABSOLUTELY PUMPED!!

This weekend I headed up to Summerside with Scott (and his rents) to see Bagad Cap Caval. Lets just say they are FREAKIN' INSANE! Absolutely amazing. I was blown away with how amazing they were. I was very grateful Scott invited me along, most definitely well worth the money. Oh, but obviously if you don't like the bagpipes.... then you won't like it.

Definitely worth a YouTube search. For sure.

For some reason ever since I was little I loved having the missionaries over for supper. Maybe it would be because that is the only time we have company or I just love missionaries, who knows. The Elders came to the crazy MacKay zoo tonight. I think for the missionaries who miss their own crazy families they love it, but the quiet ones from quiet families, well, I think they get a little scared. There is always dinner and a show, that;s for sure. I always love listening to their stories, seeing how the gospel has touched their lives and their families. I also love seeing how the church is in over places and how it is always the same. Sure I love change, but having the church always be a constant no matter where you go is definitely a relief.

Hopefully this week will be as awesome as I hope it will be. Good luck to everyone who encounters anything challenging this week! First step: have an optimistic outlook and you're on your way!!

Good Night! :)

Fail.....

I am definitely horrible at blogging, like terrible. If there is any excuse it is for sure because I am so busy with my life to sit down and blog, or I waste time.. or both. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED! It is absolutely insane how much stuff has happened. You know it has been a long time when you have to read your last blog post to remember where you left off. Since my last blog post there has been a few major events:

1. My 19th Birthday!!
So my 19th Birthday was freakin' AWESOME! I absolutely loved it! I brought in my birthday with some friends(went out Wednesday night). I then worked 10-6 which would normally suck but because all my friends were at work it wasn't really a big deal. Scott came and brought me a chicken poutine from KFC (my fav!) which was extremely awesome of him. Then the party started. I had dinner with my family (Fajitas!) and cake. I grabbed the car, drove to alyssa's, finished getting ready there and met at the Pilot House. I honestly didn't think it was that good but I think it was because I was already a little full. Charmaine, Alyssa, Chelsey, Casey, David, and Travis :) Afterwards we headed down to the waterfront where we chilled, took some pictures and just talked.
modest? heck ya!
Then after freezing we headed to DQ where we had a ice cream pizza. It was delicious! Following that I dropped off a very melted piece off and headed home. A very satisfying and awesome birthday. I got some awesome stuff. Freakin' sweet CDs with AMAZING cover art by none other then Scott, the Book of (even more) AWESOME from Alyssa, sweet stuff from Charmaine, and a BEAUTIFUL watch from Adam.

I had the best birthday in a very long time!
2. I became a single lady
There is certain things that I don't like blogging about, and those are extreme personal things but I will make an exception. After an ENORMOUS amount of thought I had to take my life in a different direction which required a lot of heartache. I am ever so grateful for the relationship I had, I have learned so much and do not regret it one bit. I am blessed to still have him as an amazing friend. I am truly blessed!
3. Went a some dates
So I decided to agree to some dates with a guy. I definitely had a blast. For sure! I am leaving it there but it was a lot of fun!
4. Became 3rd Key at Reebok
After some thought and a lovely job offer I decided to stay on PEI for the rest of the summer. At time I HIGHLY regret this decision but when I think of the job experience and the better pay I kind of change my mind. There is definitely more work and more responsibility but I am grateful to be asked to do this. I feel that I must of been doing the right thing in order to get the opportunity. I am pretty sure my social life may suffer due to this but hey, it's only for a couple months right?
5. Lived through some difficult drama
This is something else that I won't go in to but somehow I feel like I attract drama sometimes. But I made through it and I am grateful it is over. Somehow I still have friends so all is well.
6. Fixed/Regained a definitely needed friendship
Sometimes our decisions affect us in ways that we definitely did not see coming. I definitely hurt a friend and had no intentions on it. I definitely felt terrible but somehow things worked out. I really have no idea how but they did, right when I needed him the most. Even though things were hard they managed to look through it and be there for me. I am eternally grateful.
7. Gained at least 2 new favorite songs

Marry You- Bruno Mars

Teenage Dream- Boyce Avenue

Well I think that is all for now. I probably missed a ton of things and it is definitely short form but I am trying to live my life more to the fullest, focus more on what is right for me and my future, and love my life. Wish me luck.

Good Night All!

*** To add to the live right now speech. I decided the other day while it was thunder and lightning with crazy down pour, I rain outside and danced in the rain... with a few times of jumping in puddles. What a stress relief, I highly recommend it. Who cares who is looking, live a little. :)
